Group Leadership Training

Equipping existing student leaders to create safe, peer-led spaces.

Many campuses already have student leadership groups such as SAAC, student-athlete advisory committees, campus ministries, peer mentor groups, and student success organizations. GCU helps these existing groups become stronger advocates for student wellness and community.

This training is not about replacing counselors, coaches, or administrators. It is about helping student leaders understand how to create welcoming spaces, lead honest conversations, recognize when someone may need additional support, and connect peers to the right resources.

Students are often more willing to open up when another student helps create the space. GCU equips those leaders with language, structure, and confidence to lead with care.

Training Focus Areas

  • How to create a safe space for honest conversation
  • Peer leadership and emotional responsibility
  • When to listen, when to refer, and when to escalate
  • Mental wellness language that reduces stigma
  • Planning student-led wellness conversations
  • Supporting identity, purpose, and transition
  • Building a signature campus support experience

Best For

  • SAAC groups
  • Student-athlete leadership boards
  • Campus ministries
  • Peer mentor programs
  • Student success groups
  • Athletic department student leaders
